ActionAid’s Feminist Collective is a national, activist community of volunteers dedicated to gender justice. Through activism, advocacy and awareness-raising, we use our power to build a fairer world, together with women and girls.
Why does ActionAid UK have a Feminist Collective?
Whether it's girls’ right to education, women’s right to vote, or access to decent healthcare, women and girls around the world have made progress in these areas because they came together and demanded it.
But there’s a lot left to do.
Women are still 134 years away from achieving equality with men.1
One in three women still experience violence in their lifetimes.2
Women still earn on average 20% less than men globally.3
ActionAid’s Feminist Collective is part of a bigger movement for women’s rights and freedoms. The more of us there are, the greater the progress we can make – and the sooner we get to a fairer future for everyone.

Learn how to influence politicians and decision makers on gender justice
Focus on developing political advocacy skills and putting them into action. This October Collective members have the opportunity to visit Parliament and meet with their MP as part of our Climate Justice campaign.
Gain a deeper understanding of ActionAid's work
Learn about ActionAid’s work and gain new skills in advocacy, feminist leadership and decolonisation from feminist leaders and experts around the world. Since launching in May 2026, we have had learning sessions on Gender & Climate Justice, and we have an Introduction to Advocacy session coming up in October.
Join ActionAid campaigns and raise awareness of ActionAid's work
Take action with others online and in-person on ActionAid’s key campaigns. In August the Collective brought our Climate Justice campaign to people’s attention at local events, asking them to sign our petition calling on the UK Government to stop banks from funding fossil fuels that are fuelling the climate crisis.
Connect with like-minded feminists, attend events and actions together
Share your passion for challenging injustice, championing equality and demanding lasting change, whilst making new friends along the way. The Collective is open to all and is committed to anti-racist, trans inclusive, decolonial and intersectional feminism.
Build relationships with other activists and campaigning groups in the UK
We believe gender justice is intrinsically connected to climate justice, anti-racism and economic rights. That’s why we’re committed to strengthening our movement by connecting with likeminded activists in our communities.
