Women leading humanitarian response in Ukraine
Iryna, 35-year-old, is a Women’s Rights Advisor for the Ukraine humanitarian response. When Russia’s full-scale invasion began, she was relocated to Hungary, but within weeks she returned to Ukraine to help evacuate people from danger. Her commitment to human rights work stems from the 2014 Euromaidan Revolution, which inspired her transition from a career in human resources and business.
In 2025, ActionAid and the DEC mark three years of supporting communities across the region through 30 local partners, delivering humanitarian aid, protection, psychosocial support and resilience initiatives.
